Microsoft UET Consent Mode
Universal Event Tracking (UET)
Microsoft Advertising Universal Event Tracking (UET) is a tracking tool that allows you to track conversions on your website. With UET, you can track conversions from your Microsoft Advertising campaigns, such as purchases or user sign-ups.

What is Microsoft UET Consent Mode?
The UET Consent Mode allows you to adjust access to UET cookies based on your users' consent status. This enhances the privacy capabilities of UET and gives you control over whether first-party or third-party cookies are stored in the user's browser.
In the context of UET Consent Mode, first-party cookies are those created by the advertiser's domain (your website), while third-party cookies are created by Microsoft Advertising (Bing.com).
How Does Microsoft UET Consent Mode Work?
Microsoft UET Consent Mode is configured using the ad_storage
property, which can be set to one of the following values:
-
granted
: Allows reading and writing of first-party and third-party cookies by UET. If no default value is set, UET usesgranted
as the default value. -
denied
: First-party cookies are not read or written by UET. Third-party cookies are not written but can only be read for fraud and spam detection purposes, not for advertising purposes.
